How can I add a VM to my VMware server?
Before you can add a VM to your VMware servrer, you must first have an additional IP available. All VMware servers come with 3 additional IP addresses. If you do not have an available IP, please follow the intructions in the following articles:

The easiest way to add a VM is using the vSphere client. If you have not downloaded the vSpere client, Please refer to the following article:

Once you have logged into your server using vSphere, you can add virtual machines using the following steps:
* Click on File -> New -> Virtual Machine. This wil open the New Virtual Machine Wizard.
* Select the Configuration Type. The typical options will automatically assign CPU and memory resources to the VM. If would like to adjust these settings, please select the Custom option.  Click Next to continue.
Note: We suggest that you select the Typical options if you are not experienced with VMware.
* Select the name of the virtual machine.  Click Next to continue.
* If you have selected the Custom option, adjust the number of CPU cores and RAM.  Click Next to continue.
* Select the destination storage for the virtual machine. The default selection should be sufficient. Click Next to continue.
* Select the Guest OS and click Next. 
Note: This will not install the operating system. It will simply label the OS type.
* Select the number of NICs (network cards). The default settings should be sufficient for a basic VM. Click Next to continue.
* Create the virtual disk for the machine. Adjust the Virtual Disk Size to the amount of space you would like your server to have.  Click Next to continue.
* Click Finish to complete the creation of the VM.

  • Click Finish to complete the creation of the VM. 
You have now created a VM and can install an operating system on it. Codero employs MAC address limitation on the network ports, so one final step would be needed before the VM would be able to access the network:

  • Right-click on the newly created VM in the left navigation pane of vSphere and click on Edit Settings.

 

  • In the Virtual Machine Properties window, click on Network Adapter 1.

 

  • On the right, there will be a MAC Address section. Add the MAC address to your service plan in https://serverportal.com.

 

  • Repeat these steps for each additional Network Adapter on the VM.
