Customer Care is able to provide assistance in recovery of an existing password, however, it is better to reset the password directly.
In order to reset a root password, you must log into your control panel at serverportal.com, and click on the “cloud” option under the services. If you have not done so, please make sure to agree to the Cloud TOS before proceeding.
- Stop the cloud server by pressing the STOP button.
Then you will see this. Click the Yes button.
Your server will begin stopping.
If you press the RESET PASSWORD button before you stop the server you will see the following.
- Once the server has stopped, Press the RESET PASSWORD button.
You will see this confirmation message. Press Yes.
When the password has been reset, you will see the new password at the top of the screen.
- You last step is to Start the server. Press the START button.
The screen will show you that the server is starting.
Your password reset is complete when the server is running.
Your password will be reset and you will see a pop-up at the top of the page with the password. Please be sure to record the password and restart the instance to log in.
IMPORTANT: Please be sure to store the password and chance it as soon as you log into the server.
