Customer Care is able to provide assistance in recovery of an existing password, however, it is better to reset the password directly.
In order to reset a root password, you must log into your control panel at serverportal.com, and click on the “cloud” option under the services. If you have not done so, please make sure to agree to the Cloud TOS before proceeding.
Resetting a password via Cloud Portal
In the top menu, click on instances to view your current list of virtual machines.
Find the instance you would like to reset the password for, and then click on “Actions” under the instance name and click on the “Stop” option. This will open a pop-up for confirmation.
Click to confirm.
Once the VM is stopped, click on “Actions” again and click on “Reset Password”
Click OK on the pop-up to confirm the password reset.
Your password will be reset and you will see a pop-up with the password. Please be sure to record the password and restart the instance to log in.
IMPORTANT: Please be sure to store the password and chance it as soon as you log into the server.
