How do I back up MSSQL databases?

Important Notes:

This procedure will have to be done from Remote Desktop Protocol.  If you do not know how to connect using RDP.

Getting Started:

To back up the database you are going to use the mysqldump command:

  1. Open Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio and select Databases

  2. Then Right-Click on the database that you would like to backup and select Tasks then Back up...

     

  3. Click OK to begin the backup

     

  4. When the backup completes click OK to return to the SQL Server Management Studio
