What software should I use to manage my VMWare ESXi 5.1 server?


The most convenient way to manage a VMWare ESXi server is using the VMware vSphere client.
To download the vSphere client:
Go to your server's primary IP address in a browser
http://IP_ADDRESS
The Getting Started documentation lists the download link for a 60-day evaluation version of vSPhere client. Please note that, if you choose to use the software after the initial 60 day trial period, you mush purchase a license from http://vmware.com
Once the client is downloaded, please follow the installation instrcutions to install vSphere client on your local Windows computer. 
To connect to your server:
Open the vSphere client on your local computer
A login window will appear. Enter your server's primary IP address, root username, and root password. 
Click "Login" to continue.
Note: When you first log into the server, you may receive a "Certificate Warning." This is normal for self-signed certificates. In order to proceed, please check the box next to "Install this certificate and do not display any security warnings" and then click Ignore
