With Dell, Codero can focus on hosting services

Emil Sayegh is the president and CEO of Austin-based Codero Hosting. Launched in 2009, Codero Hosting provides a complete portfolio of hosting services to 4,000 customers and has 60 employees spread throughout Austin, Kansas City, Phoenix and Chicago.
Sayegh was no stranger to the hosting industry when joining Codero in January 2012, having served as vice president of cloud service at Hewlett-Packard and previously in the same role as general manager for the cloud computing division at Rackspace. Although he had made a name for himself at large hosting and cloud organizations, he was ready to get back to his entrepreneurial roots and use his acquired skill set to make a difference at a growing midsized company.
Historically, Codero chose to build its own servers over using branded hardware. However, because of the changing nature of the hosting industry and the fact that the company's key differentiator was high-performance services, it no longer made sense for Codero to manufacture servers.
From a supply standpoint, Codero required a hardware partner that could guarantee speed, reliability, and performance.
"We deploy servers for our customers in less than one hour, and that is unheard of in our industry; most competitors can only promise 14 days," Sayegh said.

After Sayegh came on board, Dell servers were implemented in Codero data centers. Codero had been sourcing software from Dell for many years, so it seemed a natural next step to select Dell as a hardware vendor as well. Codero placed its first hardware order in December 2012.

He added that the partnership allows Codero to focus on delivering an exceptional hosting service experience to its customers.
Codero successfully transitioned from a hardware company to a premier hosting services company. The data centers have become 20 to 30 percent more efficient from an operations standpoint. The company no longer needs to build its own hardware, and Dell servers come pre-tested, pre-qualified and pre-racked. With a renewed focus on quality services this year, Codero has been able to launch several new products, including MicroCloud, smart servers and Quick Deploy (one-hour deploy servers).
