Free Tickets From Codero To Social Media Marketing Bootcamp With Sarah Evans.

Self-employed, unemployed, or students are eligible to apply for one of three available complimentary passes to the event which features a renown public relations expert.

Overland Park, Kan. - Because social media continues to emerge as an important part of the mix in businesses’ marketing plans, Codero is offering a day of training to those who may need it most, but may not always be in a financial situation to afford it.

Social Media Marketing Boot Camp will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 2010, in Lawrence, Kan. at Maceli's Banquet Hall. Three free passes are available from Codero, an Infrastructure-as-a-Service provider offering dedicated hosting and managed services. Codero is one of the sponsors of the full day workshop created by Social: In Real Life.

Sarah Evans will take an in-depth look at social media and how it can be utilized in marketing your business or organization. Sarah is the owner of Sevans Strategy, a public relations and new media consultancy. A self-described “social media freak,” she currently moderates #Journchat, a weekly live chat for public relation professionals, journalists and bloggers on the microblogging platform Twitter. She also has her own blog at and is a guest writer for Mashable, one of the most popular social media blogs in the world. Sarah is featured in the February 2010 edition of Vanity Fair’s “America’s Tweethearts,” Forbes’ “14 Power Women to Follow on Twitter” and in Entrepreneur’s “10 Hot Startups.”

The bootcamp will focus on how social media works in conjunction with traditional marketing, the importance of it and practical ways of engaging customers and prospects. It will also offer assistance in creating a social media based marketing plan to make your brand stand out. A question and answer session is slated to occur during the event as well.

To qualify for one of the three tickets donated by Codero, you need to be a full or part-time student, self-employed or an active job seeker. To enter, describe in 200 to 300 words what you would hope to gain from attending the social marketing boot camp and how you would apply what you learn there.

Entries should be emailed to and must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. Thursday, September 9, 2010. Three winners will be selected from the entries received and will be announced on Friday, September 10, 2010. Registrations are not transferable.
