Email archiving is creating an index of each message to make sure it can be easily found later and then storing the message. You can enlist an email archiving system to accomplish this; index and store the messages on-site; or duplicate each message and send them to a third party for indexing and storage. You can even do a combination, a hybrid approach, of indexing messages on-site and then sending that data to a third party to store.

W3C now wants to launch developer community groups that will give them coaching and the W3C infrastructure to create standards that could eventually be used across the entire Web.

The consortium believes this could eliminate the groups that create their own individual standards that are not compatible with each other. W3C wants standards to be royalty free. Right now the W3C is working on standards for HTML5, device APIs, privacy and security standards, and more.
