The Harvey Server Rescue Project

Hosting Provider Codero and Partners Provide Support to Companies Hit by Hurricane Harvey

Catastrophic. Epic. The words used to describe the devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey barely meet the description as the images of the destruction in Houston unfolded. As businesses try to restore business as usual, they’re working to find solutions for flooded buildings, continued power outages, and inaccessible areas.

Keeping Business Up and Running

When some business owners reached out to Codero Reseller Partner CloudSpace USA, quick response resulted in the transport of several servers to Austin, saving the systems from flooded Houston locations. CloudSpace housed these servers in their Austin-based data center, and then reached out to Codero for space for additional servers. The Codero team gladly stepped up, providing more Houston companies with backup and recovery services as well as virtual cloud space and physical space in Codero’s Dallas Data Center. Infrascale, a Disaster Recovery As A Service (DRaaS) provider and Codero partner, will provide recovery space in their online backup cloud. These three companies have teamed up to provide business server space for those affected by Hurricane Harvey, either in the Codero Dallas Data Center or in the cloud with Infrascale and AWS, in order to keep their businesses up and running through this challenging time.

Since the storm and its aftermath will likely severely affect these businesses and the Texas economy for some time, Codero, CloudSpace, and Infrascale will continue to provide assistance for companies needing backup or replacement server requirements. Codero staff and volunteers worked over the Labor Day weekend to support these businesses through this crisis. The goal is to minimize downtime and get multiple organizations back up and running as soon as possible – maintaining the Codero commitment to customer support even under catastrophic circumstances.
