At Codero, we live by the slogan “making customers smile”. However, as the holiday season approaches there’s no better way to adapt that slogan than to “making children smile.” We believe that the holidays are a wonderful time for families and loved ones to come together and celebrate—and all families deserve to experience the joy of the season. In an effort to provide needy children with the happiness of the holidays, the Salvation Army Angel Tree Program relies on donations and the efforts of volunteers to provide clothing and gifts for thousands of children across the United States. Codero Hosting is a proud participant in the Angel Tree Program and this year all three offices (Austin, Kansas City, and Phoenix) donated clothing, gifts, and time to make a difference in the communities where we work and live.
Sponsoring a child means that you not only provide gifts from their wish lists, but also necessities like shoes and clothing—those expensive items that kids grow out of in the blink of an eye.
Members of our team, including CEO Emil Sayegh and COO Robert Autenrieth, spent a few hours sorting and organizing gifts at the Salvation Army donation center. In the morning hours of an unusually cold Austin day, we all followed the lead of our wonderful Salvation Army representative, Andrea, and did our part to spread the joy of the holidays. Taking the time to participate reminded all of us that it’s certainly not only the recipients of gifts that benefit, we all felt like we received a great gift and left feeling grateful for the opportunity. As we get further into the holiday season, we encourage everyone to do what they can to bring the message of love and hope to those in your community. It’s what the holiday season is all about.
