Codero is adding to our tradition of giving back to our community with our annual food drive! It was held in our Kansas City office and was a huge success thanks to all of our generous Team Codero members.
Winner, winner! Chicken (Noodle Soup) Dinner!
The Codero food drive competition is over and the true winner is…drum roll, please…Harvesters food bank! In total, Team Codero in Kansas City is donating over 400 canned goods and personal items! I’m so proud of my Codero teammates!
Snapshot of the play-by-play:
- There was secret strategizing going on behind closed cubicles…
- There was sneaking out to do last minute grocery shopping…
- Then, on the final day as the clock struck 3:00…the Free Beer Friday bell sounded…Team Codero gathered by the boxes to see who would claim victory…
- Team 2 was victorious with 221 items! Team 3 claimed second place with 103 items, followed by Teams 1 and 4 in third and fourth place, respectively.
A little bit about Harvesters: their mission is to feed hungry people today and work to end hunger tomorrow. As the area’s only food bank, Harvesters is a clearinghouse for the collection and distribution of food and related household products. Learn more about how you can get involved and support this philanthropic organization.
In the end, even though we had a lot of fun with our food drive, the workers and volunteers at Harvesters are the real heroes. They give their time generously to serve others, and we are thankful. And, I’m proud to say that together we are doing our part to help put smiles on the faces of thousands of local families.
The fun continues…! How else do we have fun and give back?
I’m glad you asked! At Codero, we like to have fun and ‘do good’ with everything we do. Take our Secret-Santa event. We didn’t just collect toys for donation; we made a game out of it (nothing wrong with a little healthy competition, right?!) On top of the employee contributions, we also bought another $1000 worth of toys to donate! How cool is that?! Check out all the antics of the Secret Santa event and see how when it comes down to it, we’re all just kids at heart.
Let’s talk trees. Another cool event was our Plant-a-Tree program. Our customers donated generously to the cause and with our dollar for dollar match (plus a little extra) we were able to plant over 1,000 trees in places that needed it most. Check out how we won multiple awards for being a “Green Host” because of our careful and considerate use of our earth’s resources. It’s just one of our green initiatives, and we’re pretty proud of it. We wear those awards as a badge of honor.
Thanks again to the entire Codero family for your continuous support and enthusiasm to get out there, get involved and ‘do good’! We will continue our commitment to giving back. Remember, the green in the Codero logo is meant to symbolize our commitment as a company to being green and eco-friendly. Just like giving back, it’s truly apart of whom we are.
We take pride in making our customers and team members smile. If you would like to join us, check out our career openings.
